RKCR/Y&R

Well, we've been working here at RKCR/Y&R on placement since monday and we're absolutely loving it. Everybody's really friendly. We've been situated under the stairs which didn't sound that appealing at first but surprisingly, its been a blessing. We've been talking to everyone who passes us! We managed to get a quick book crit this afternoon with Damon Collins the Creative Director here which went well, many words of wisdom were bestowed upon us. We've got lots of really good briefs to sink our teeth into and we're showing our book to all the creatives here, so hopefully by the end of this placement we'll be wiser and have a much better book! Awesome!

We went for a book crit at Tribal yesterday and it was really good. They gave some brilliant advice and constructive criticism. We have got so much on at the moment but we want to go back soon and impress them with a brand new spankingly good book.

It's all about the Strategies...

Stealing the Valentines Balloons.

So last week we went into London for some book crits. Our first crit was with Mark and Adam at JWT. Unfortunately Mark was in a meeting but luckily we still got to see Adam who was very helpful and gave us some really good feedback.

After our visit to JWT we hopped on the train to see Rick and Steve at Saatchi and Saatchi, who our now our mentors thanks to the uni points system. On the way to visit them, I got trapped on a train and Sarah got stuck on the platform. Fortunately we were reunited again at Goodge Street Station and laughed our asses off. That got us quite hyped up, so after passing by a lovely little shop with valentines balloons hanging outside we proceeded to steal the balloons and run all the way to Saatchi and Saatchi's. What fun.

So we arrived at Saatchi and Saatchi's and met Rick and Steve. We gave them the Valentines balloons, which I think they we're rather pleased with, and preceded to the big bad book crit. I don't think they were overly impressed with our work, our book is a massive work in progress but they did say that we've proven we can think strategically but they want more. It's all about the strategies isn't it? So now we have to come up with 50 strategies and email them by tomorrow morning. Nearly done, wish us luck!
